Scott McCoppin, Principal

Scott is the founding principal of Studio 1616. He is a graduate of the Ohio State University and University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and has been practicing architecture and design for over 20 years – 15 of which have been here in the Carolinas. With experience ranging from design build residential projects of up to 22,000 sf to public / educational projects of over 200,000 sf, Scott’s experience is varied. To every project he has brought thoughtful problem solving and design sensibilities to assure that the project succeeds beyond his clients’ expectations while respecting budgets and schedules.

 


Ron Branch, Principal

With broad experience ranging from custom residential to large scale commercial and corporate projects, Ron’s attention to the process and needs of the project, combined with his love of building long lasting relationships with his clients, has consistently led to innovative and creative solutions. Ron is a founding board member of the North Davidson (NoDa) School of Arts. He has served as a first year design professor and visiting critic at the College of Architecture at UNC-Charlotte and continues to serve as a rotating guest juror at Rhode Island School of Design in Providence, RI.

 


Annzie B. Barfield, Interiors Principal

With 12+ years of commercial interior design experience, Annzie specializes in hospitality, retail and corporate design. Some recent projects include Dressler’s Metropolitan, Flores and Associate’s new three story office space, and Red Venture’s new 80,000 square foot corporate office building. With strengths of client relationships, project management, interior design and finish selections, her goals are to bring positive energy and exuberance into projects for her clients and project team. Annzie believes that good design is created by the client and design team through open communication and an open mind.
